just when you thought the Zeina spooky Halloween recipes couldn’t get any better, we’ve come up with this spicy pistachio pesto spaghetti that will look great on you Halloween party table, and might even get the kids eating those vegetables! to make this recipe vegan, all you nee to do is substitute the Parmesan for a vegan hard cheese alternative


  • 300g spaghetti (if you can find squid ink or spinach spaghetti it will make the dish even spookier!)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 100g fresh basil
  • 100g Zeina Pistachios
  • 50g Zeina Pine Nuts
  • 150ml olive oil
  • 1 small chilli
  • sprinkle of chilli flakes
  • 50g vegetarian parmesan
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 4 orange peppers


  1. place the spaghetti in a pan of boiling water to cook for 10 minutes

2. toast the pine nuts in a small pan until they are lightly toasted

3. add the garlic, basil, toasted pine nuts, pistachios, olive oil, chilli and Parmesan in a blender, blend until you reach the desired consistency

4. if the consistency is too dry, continue to add olive oil until you get the desired consistency

5. add the cooked spaghetti and pesto to a pan and cook until all the pesto is hot

5. take the peppers, cut off the tops and take out the seeds in the middle

6. cut faces into the peppers like you would do with Halloween pumpkins

7. place the spicy pesto spaghetti into the peppers and top with chilli flakes
